América-RN has officially extended midfielder Henrique’s contract until 2027; the 21-year-old player will be loaned to Alecrim to regain match fitness.
América-RN made headlines this week by announcing the contract renewal of young midfielder Henrique. With the new deal, the 21-year-old player, considered one of the club’s promising youth academy talents, will have his stay guaranteed until the end of the 2027 Brazilian Serie D season.
The Alvirrubro‘s strategic decision aims to protect the club’s assets while preparing the athlete for a full return to the field. Simultaneously with the renewal, the SAF board confirmed Henrique‘s loan to Alecrim, where the midfielder will seek to regain his physical and technical condition during the Campeonato Potiguar second division.
Return After Serious Injury
Henrique‘s recent career has been marked by a long challenge off the field. In August 2025, the athlete suffered a severe knee injury during an official match, requiring complex surgery and a recovery period that lasted almost a year.
The lengthy rehabilitation process severely limited the player’s participation in the current season. So far, Henrique has made only one official appearance for América-RN in 2026, coming on in the second half of the match against Sousa-PB in the national fourth division in mid-June.
Opportunity at Alecrim
For América-RN’s coaching staff, the loan is the ideal solution for the player to gain real playing time. The state second division will be the stage for the midfielder to regain the necessary confidence and match fitness before returning to the main squad.
América-RN‘s long-term investment reflects confidence in the athlete’s technical potential, who will now have the opportunity to resume his career in an official competitive environment with Alecrim.
