São Paulo court orders Palmeiras to hand over documents regarding Allan‘s transfer to Manchester City, as creditors dispute the multi-million-dollar payout destined for Figueirense.
Midfielder Allan‘s transfer from Palmeiras to Manchester City, completed for a staggering 40 million euros — roughly R$ 240 million —, has become the epicenter of a complex legal battle in Brazilian courts.
Although the São Paulo club acts merely as a financial intermediary in this operation and is not a defendant in the main lawsuit, the Court has demanded the immediate submission of all contractual documentation related to the deal.
Demand for payment transparency
The order was issued by Judge Marcella Leal Restum, from the 5th Civil Court, setting a ten-day deadline for Verdão to hand over the original contracts, attachments, and any addenda.
The focus of the demand centers on the amount of approximately R$ 24 million that the club from Pompeia is scheduled to forward to Figueirense‘s coffers, following a prior agreement signed between the Brazilian teams in May 2025.
Creditors dispute the funds
The multi-million-dollar sum has attracted the attention of multiple creditors attempting to secure payment for longstanding debts owed by the Santa Catarina club.
The dispute began with a lawsuit filed by M&F Investimentos e Participações S/A, which acquired a credit originating from an unpaid loan with the Sports Partners fund.
The destination of the funds depends entirely on legal developments, as various parties are requesting the preventive freezing of the amounts.
In addition to the company holding the credit, Athletico-PR and creditors linked to a labor lawsuit have also requested the judicial freezing of the amount.
Given this multiplicity of claims, Palmeiras is awaiting further instructions from the Court to determine where the capital should be deposited with legal security.
