Flamengo shone during their preseason training camp in Portugal, securing a 2-0 victory over Lausanne. Goals from Lorran and Wallace Yan confirm the strong form of the Rubro-Negro under the guidance of head coach Leonardo Jardim.

In a match that reinforced their preparations for the upcoming challenges of the season, Flamengo demonstrated their strength and cohesion by overcoming Switzerland’s Lausanne 2-0. The match, played at the Estádio Algarve in Portugal, marked the second victory for the Mais Querido during their European tour, solidifying the early work of head coach Leonardo Jardim.

The win not only boosted the team’s morale but also allowed the squad to test different lineups and strategies, with a standout performance from the young talents who decided the score in the second half. The focus now turns to the next challenge and the return to Brazil, where the team will continue their preparations.

Control and Opportunities in the First Half

From the opening whistle, Flamengo dictated the pace of the game, controlling possession and searching for gaps in the opponent’s defense. The Rio de Janeiro side created their first chances through Joshua, who showed initiative and skill, orchestrating dangerous plays that nearly resulted in a goal, with contributions from Everton Cebolinha and Wallace Yan.

Despite their superiority on the pitch and attempts to break the deadlock, the first half ended scoreless. Lausanne‘s defensive solidity, combined with the precision of goalkeeper Castella, ensured the score remained unchanged heading into halftime.

Ninho Talents Shine in the Final Half

The second half brought the intensity that the Rubro-Negro attack had been missing. Just five minutes in, Lorran, who had just come off the bench, capitalized on a well-worked play to find the back of the net, putting Flamengo in front. The opposition defense could not contain the surge, and the young number 99 finished with mastery.

In the 30th minute, it was Wallace Yan who extended the lead. The forward capitalized on a mistake in Lausanne‘s build-up play, controlled the ball with class, and struck it into the corner, sealing the 2-0 victory. The substitutions made by Leonardo Jardim throughout the match kept the team at a high level, allowing new names to showcase their skills while maintaining offensive pressure.

Intensive Preparation with an Eye on the Future

With the win over Lausanne, Flamengo concludes an important stage of their preparation in Portugal. This series of friendlies has been fundamental for team chemistry and the assimilation of the new coaching staff’s philosophy.

Flamengo‘s next commitment will be against Benfica on Saturday (11th), once again at the Estádio Algarve. This will be the final test on Portuguese soil before the delegation returns to Brazil, where the team will finalize their preseason and prepare for the challenges of the official season. The Rubro-negra fans, full of “Raça, Amor e Paixão” (Spirit, Love, and Passion), eagerly await the team’s next steps.
