In a historic assembly, Desportiva Ferroviária officially completes its transformation into a SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol); the club from Espírito Santo will receive an investment of R$ 116 million from Tiva Investimentos, a group that includes club legend Sávio.
Desportiva Ferroviária, one of the most traditional clubs in Espírito Santo state football, has officially begun a new era. During an Extraordinary General Assembly held at the club’s headquarters in Jardim América, Cariacica, members gave the green light to establish the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF). With 29 votes in favor and only one against, the decision marks a turning point for the institution.
The process, which had been in development since 2024, was solidified with the backing of Tiva Investimentos. The agreement stipulates an investment of R$ 116 million over the next decade in exchange for 90% of the shares in the new football structure. The project carries significant weight due to the involvement of former striker Sávio—who started his career at the club before legendary stints at giants like Flamengo and Real Madrid—as one of the key investors.
New statutes and professional management
Beyond approving the change in structure, the assembly ratified the new social statutes for the SAF, which will be legally based in Cariacica. The board views this transition as a necessary step toward modernizing their football department. In an open letter published this Sunday (26), the club celebrated the milestone, highlighting the optimism among the fanbase regarding this new administrative chapter.
“The SAF opens the doors to more professional management, new investments, and a model capable of making the club increasingly stronger,” the official statement from Desportiva Ferroviária read on social media.
Future outlook
The official transition to a SAF places Desportiva on a more competitive level within both the state and national landscape. The financial injection promises not only to resolve outstanding debts but also to boost the infrastructure and the squad for the coming years. With the support of club icon Sávio and the backing of the members, the club from Jardim América is now preparing to face the challenges of restructuring its professional football operations under new financial leadership, seeking to reclaim the prominence its history demands.
