Palmeiras accumulates over R$ 48 million in Libertadores prize money and aims for R$ 129 million with the title.

Palmeiras has achieved a significant financial milestone in the Copa Libertadores da América. By qualifying for the semifinals of the 2026 edition, the São Paulo-based club has already secured prize money of US$ 9.27 million, equivalent to approximately R$ 48.1 million. This amount, updated by Conmebol, positions “Verdão” as the second-highest earner among the four semifinalists.

The accumulated sum is a result of their participation since the group stage, including victories and qualifications in the knockout rounds. Palmeiras secured three wins in the group stage, while Flamengo, the leading earner among the semifinalists, reached US$ 9.61 million (approximately R$ 49.9 million), boosted by five victories.

Detailed Campaign Earnings

The difference in prize money between the clubs largely stems from their performance in the group stage, where each victory earned US$ 340,000 (approximately R$ 1.76 million). The recent qualification for the semifinals added an additional US$ 2.3 million (approximately R$ 11.95 million) to the coffers of each of the four teams still competing for the continental title.

Conmebol has established a progressive prize money structure in the Libertadores. The runner-up will receive an additional US$ 7 million (R$ 36.3 million), while the ultimate winner of the competition will pocket US$ 25 million (R$ 129.8 million) solely for lifting the trophy.

Check out the detailed prize money distribution by Conmebol:

  • Group stage: US$ 1 million
  • Each win in the group stage: US$ 340,000
  • Round of 16: US$ 1.25 million
  • Quarterfinals: US$ 1.7 million
  • Semifinals: US$ 2.3 million
  • Runner-up: an additional US$ 7 million
  • Champion: an additional US$ 25 million

Focus on the Semifinals and Future Outlook

With the significant prize money already secured, Palmeiras is now focusing on the crucial all-Brazilian clash against Fluminense in the Libertadores semifinals. The first leg is scheduled for October 14, at the Maracanã, with the return leg taking place on October 21 at Nubank Parque. The winner will secure a spot in the competition’s final, which will be held on November 28, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Winning the title represents not only sporting glory but also a significant financial boost for the club.
