Striker Joaquín Freitas had his name published in the CBF‘s BID (Daily Information Bulletin) on Wednesday (02), making his regularization official. With the bureaucracy resolved, the 19-year-old Argentinean talent is cleared to make his debut in the red-and-black jersey under coach Leonardo Jardim.
The signing, which is Flamengo’s second move in this transfer window, was finalized after a brief and intense negotiation. The player arrived in Brazil last Monday (31) and, after completing routine medical examinations, was officially announced by the club on Tuesday (01).

Hailing from River Plate (ARG) and with a history in the youth divisions of the Argentinian national team, the right winger arrives in Rio de Janeiro with the status of a promising talent and a strong desire to integrate into the squad. In his first official statement for FlamengoTV, the player emphasized the significance of wearing the ‘Sacred Jersey’.

Investment Details
Flamengo has secured a long-term contract with the striker, valid until 2031, aiming for the player’s development over the next five seasons. To complete the transfer from the Argentine club, Flamengo paid 7 million euros, approximately R$ 42 million at the current exchange rate. This investment grants the club 80% of Joaquín Freitas‘s economic rights, with River Plate retaining the remaining percentage.
The expectation now is centered on the lineup for upcoming Campeonato Brasileiro matches. With his paperwork in order and having integrated with the group in training, the coaching staff will assess the ideal physical condition to launch the new signing into the starting lineup or use him as an option off the bench, adding more speed and aggressiveness to Flamengo’s attack.
