Gerson and his father, Marcão, face a new legal battle; in addition to a claim for an unpaid loan, the duo is targeted by a multi-million dollar lawsuit from Flamengo.
Midfielder Gerson, former Flamengo captain, and his father, agent Marcão, have become targets of a new legal dispute. This time, the claim comes from Gabriela Maria Antunes Alves, who accuses the pair of failing to repay a loan of R$ 200,000. According to information released by the portal Metrópoles, the case has been pending before the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) since late August.
Details of the Claim
According to the plaintiff, the amount was transferred through a contract stipulated in 20 monthly installments. However, Gabriela alleges that only the first two payments were made, leading her to seek legal action to recover the capital. Currently, the amount claimed in the lawsuit reaches R$ 300,000 due to debt correction.
The judicial request includes a demand for a freeze on Gerson‘s salary and any amounts receivable by Marcão, including from contracts linked to Cruzeiro, to ensure the settlement of the debt.
Conflict with Flamengo
In addition to this financial entanglement, the player’s father remains involved in a dispute of much larger proportions with the Rubro-Negro. Flamengo has filed a lawsuit against the player and his representative over an alleged unilateral breach of contract. The club from Gávea seeks compensation of approximately R$ 42.7 million.
In response, Marcão denies any irregularities and accuses the club’s board of manipulating the process, rejecting the claim that his company received undue advance payments. While the legal team of Mais Querido maintains the validity of the claim, the dispute continues in the courts.
Context of the ‘Coringa’s’ Departure
The relationship between Gerson and Flamengo suffered intense strain in July 2025, when Zenit (RUS) exercised the player’s termination clause, paying 25 million euros. The departure of the idol, who at the time wore the captain’s armband, surprised the Flamengo fans.
Subsequently, the player’s defense argued that the contract renewal signed with Flamengo had reduced the termination fee from 200 million euros to a much lower amount, without the player being fully aware of the impact of this alteration.
