While the Rubro-Negro youth setup maintains its competitive rhythm on Brazilian soil, forward Diego Reyes experienced a landmark moment in his career in Mexico by winning the Concacaf U-20 Championship, cementing the Mexican dominance in the final against the United States with a 2-0 victory.
The title, celebrated at the historic Estadio Azteca, crowns a flawless campaign for the host nation, which finished the competition with a perfect record. The achievement not only brings prestige to the young player but also secures Mexico a spot in the next FIFA U-20 World Cup, scheduled for 2027, co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Although he started most of the matches on the bench, Diego Reyes was an important rotation piece for the Mexican squad. The forward actively participated in almost every game, logging essential minutes against teams such as Antigua & Barbuda, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Canada. In the grand final, the player watched the victory from the bench, celebrating the continental triumph.

While Reyes celebrates, the Garotos do Ninho remain focused on local competitions. Despite being without their called-up stars, Flamengo began their Campeonato Carioca campaign with a solid 3-1 victory over Portuguesa, with goals from Jhefinho, Josmar, and Douglas Telles.
