Flamengo squad gets the weekend off ahead of a decisive stretch!
Following their important victory over Red Bull Bragantino, the Flamengo squad will have a rest period this weekend. Players have been granted time off on September 26th and 27th, marking a brief break from the intense training sessions at Ninho do Urubu.
The Rubro-Negro team had just finished a week of focused training after reporting back on Tuesday (the 22nd), keeping the FIFA international break in mind. Head coach Leonardo Jardim used the week to refine the group’s physical and tactical preparation, looking ahead to the upcoming challenges in the competitions.
FIFA break is an opportunity for adjustments
The international break, which runs until early October, provides Jardim with a valuable window to work with the majority of the squad.
Although five players are away on international duty—Pedro and Samuel Lino (Brazil), Arrascaeta and Varela (Uruguay), and Anthony Valencia (Ecuador)—the coach is focused on optimizing time with the available players, intensifying physical and tactical work.

The time off coincides with a crucial moment of the season for Flamengo, as they lead the Brazilian Serie A and continue their campaign in the Copa Libertadores.

The team is scheduled to return to the pitch on October 8th, when Flamengo will face Santos at Vila Belmiro for the 29th round of the Brazilian Serie A.
