Flamengo has finalized its squad list for the decisive match against Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores, with the confirmed return of defender Léo Pereira.
Flamengo will take the field this Thursday (17th), at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), at the Maracanã stadium, to secure its qualification for the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores da América. After building a 2-0 advantage in the first leg, the team coached by Leonardo Jardim seeks to maintain its momentum against Independiente del Valle to confirm a spot among the top four teams on the continent.
The preparation for the match brought significant relief to the coaching staff. Defender Léo Pereira, who was rested in the last Brazilian Serie A game due to muscle discomfort, trained normally throughout the week and is available. The defender’s return strengthens the Rubro-Negro‘s defense for the second leg.
Squad List
For the continental clash, Flamengo has announced the players included in the roster:
- Goalkeepers: Andrew, Dyogo Alves, and Rossi;
- Defenders: Danilo, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, and Vitão;
- Fullbacks: Alex Sandro, Ayrton Lucas, Emerson Royal, and Varela;
- Midfielders: Arrascaeta, Carrascal, De La Cruz, Erick Pulgar, Jorginho, and Saúl;
- Forwards: Bruno Henrique, Joaquín Freitas, Luís Araújo, Lucas Paquetá, Pedro Plata, and Samuel Lino.
Confirmed Absence
The only confirmed absence from the squad is midfielder Evertton Araújo. The player suffered a serious injury to the adductor muscle in his left thigh and remains under the care of the medical department, with his return expected only in November.
The medical department is working to ensure the squad reaches its physical peak in this final stretch of the season, but unfortunately, we’ve lost Evertton Araújo for a considerable period.

Deciding Scenario
With the advantage built in the first leg, Flamengo can even afford to lose by one goal and still advance in the competition.
Should the aggregate score end in a tie, the spot for the semifinal will be decided by penalties.
