Lorran leaves Flamengo for the United Arab Emirates. Sharjah FC has paid 1.5 million euros for the young forward.
Forward Lorran is no longer part of the Flamengo squad. The club’s management confirmed on Friday afternoon (18) the sale of the player to Sharjah FC, a club based in the United Arab Emirates. The transaction, valued at approximately 1.5 million euros (roughly R$ 8.8 million), marks the start of a new chapter in the young athlete’s career abroad.
The deal concludes Lorran‘s tenure at Ninho do Urubu, where the forward emerged as one of the most promising prospects from the youth academy. The expectation is that the player will gain more playing time and take on a more prominent role in international football.
A Gem from the Youth Academy
Lorran rose through the ranks of the Flamengo youth system, achieving several notable milestones. At 16, he made his professional debut by scoring a goal, becoming the youngest player to achieve such a feat while wearing the Rio club’s jersey. Despite his potential, his transition to the first team did not result in the expected consistency, leading to more limited opportunities.
International Experience
Last season, the attacking midfielder had a loan spell at Pisa, in Italy, in an attempt to gain more experience and match rhythm outside of Brazil. However, much like his time at Flamengo, the player struggled to establish himself as a starter for the Italian side.
After his time in Europe, Lorran returned to Flamengo and participated in the mid-season training camp in Portugal, where he saw some minutes and showed flashes of his talent. Nevertheless, upon returning to the regular schedule of games in Brazil, the athlete once again fell out of favor under manager Leonardo Jardim.
Flamengo’s Season Outlook
Lorran‘s departure comes at a crucial moment for Flamengo in 2026. The club is preparing for the final stages of the Libertadores while aiming to maintain its strong performance in the Brazilian Serie A.
Last Thursday (17), Mengão secured their spot in the Libertadores semifinals after defeating Del Valle (ECU) in a tense match at the Maracanã, following their win in the first leg in Ecuador. Their next opponent in the continental competition will be Estudiantes (ARG).
