Flamengo ranks among global football giants with unprecedented nomination for France Football’s Best Club of the Year award.
Flamengo has achieved a historic milestone by being nominated for the Best Club of the Year category at the prestigious France Football awards, the organizers of the Ballon d’Or. The red-and-black club is the sole representative from outside Europe on the list, directly competing with football powerhouses such as Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich. This is a very important award; for Europeans, it holds more significance than the FIFA award, and for a South American club to be nominated for this award is an honor for all of us who work here in Flamengo’s football department. It’s an honor for this management under President Bap, it’s also an honor and a credit to the work of Filipe Luís and now to our work here, to all of us, to those who are visible but also to those who are not seen and who make Flamengo have European club standards today. The fact of having been nominated is already an award for the club,” Boto affirmed.
