Flamengo intensifies search for reinforcements and prepares astronomical offer of R$ 206 million for forward Luiz Henrique, aiming to strengthen the squad for the 2026 season.
Flamengo remains active in the transfer market seeking big names for the 2026 season. With the negotiation for Thiago Almada, an attacking midfielder for Atlético de Madrid, stalled due to the player’s indecision about his future, the club’s board has shifted its strategy and advanced talks to sign forward Luiz Henrique, currently with Zenit (RUS).
Historic investment at Gávea
The Rio de Janeiro club’s strategy is audacious. According to investigations, Flamengo is preparing an offer of 30 million euros (around R$ 177 million), potentially reaching 35 million euros (R$ 206.5 million) with the fulfillment of targets and contractual bonuses.
Should the deal be finalized as intended, Luiz Henrique would become the second most expensive signing in the club’s history, trailing only Lucas Paquetá. In addition to the transfer fee, the player would arrive with star status, poised to command the highest salary in the Flamengo squad.
Plan B or new priority?
Despite the pursuit of Luiz Henrique, the M360 Team highlights that Thiago Almada remains on the agenda. However, the board understands it cannot wait indefinitely for the midfielder’s decision, as he is also considering an offer from River Plate (ARG).
The move has internal support. Midfielder Lucas Paquetá, who played alongside Luiz Henrique for the Brazil national team during the 2026 World Cup, has not hidden his admiration for the player.
Lucas Paquetá stated:
I joked with Luiz, he’s someone I admire a lot, a great athlete, he has quality… A great player. Let the club do what it needs to do. He would be very welcome.
For the M360 Team, the move is strategic. Although the squad needs a backup for Arrascaeta — a role Almada could fill — the transfer window demands agility. Advancing on a replacement of Luiz Henrique‘s caliber is, therefore, a measure of prudence and ambition by Flamengo’s leadership.
