Fla Beats Bangu, Securing Fifth Straight Win in Carioca U20
Flamengo U20 once again showcased its strength in the Taça Guanabara. On Friday morning (04), the “Garotos do Ninho” (Nest Boys) defeated Bangu 3-0 at CT Saferj in a match valid for the fifth round of the state championship. The result maintains the team’s 100% record in the competition, which now boasts five consecutive victories.
The winning goals were scored by Jhefinho, Diego Queiroz, and Andrew. The scoring opened early, in the 8th minute, with an individual play by Joshua, who set up Jhefinho. In the 4th minute of the second half, Diego Queiroz extended the lead with a header following a corner kick from Joshua. In the final minutes, at 46, Andrew, who had come on in the second half, converted a penalty to seal the victory.
Flawless Campaign in the Taça Guanabara
With the triumph over Bangu, Flamengo now has 15 points, leading the Taça Guanabara U20. The team boasts an impressive campaign, with 14 goals scored and only three conceded in five matches. This record underscores the good form of the “rubro-negra” youth academy in state competitions.
Next Challenge: Copa do Brasil U20
After consolidating their lead in the Campeonato Carioca, the “Garotos do Ninho” are already preparing for a new challenge. Flamengo will debut in the Copa do Brasil U20 next Tuesday (08), facing Forte from Espírito Santo. The match is scheduled for 3 PM at CT George Helal, and the expectation is to maintain the positive momentum gained in the state competition.
