The Independiente del Valle (ECU) delegation has arrived in Rio de Janeiro and finalized their training schedule ahead of the decisive showdown against Flamengo. The Ecuadorian team arrived in the city early Wednesday morning (16) and is preparing for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores da América quarterfinals.
The centerpiece of their preparation involves the use of Fluminense‘s training facilities. In a gesture of cooperation, the Rio-based club allowed Independiente del Valle to use their training ground for their final tactical session before facing Mengão.

With only one day to train in Rio de Janeiro, the Independiente del Valle coaching staff is focused on optimizing their time. The training session scheduled for Wednesday afternoon (16) at Fluminense‘s facility will serve as the final opportunity for the team to fine-tune their tactics and strategy for the match against Flamengo.

This advantage means Flamengo can afford a one-goal loss and still secure a spot in the Libertadores semifinals. However, a 2-0 result in favor of the Ecuadorians would send the match to a penalty shootout.
