Newly signed Internacional midfielder Calebe has been officially presented and is already looking ahead to the decisive clash against Flamengo, valid for the 21st round of the Brazilian Serie A.
Internacional is looking to revitalize its squad during a critical juncture of the 2026 season. Last Monday (27), the Porto Alegre-based club officially presented midfielder Calebe, who joins on loan from Fortaleza. In his first press conference, the player did not shy away from the responsibility and projected an immediate “turning point” for the duel against Flamengo, scheduled for this Wednesday (29).
Commitment and optimism
The new signing highlighted his direct contact with the coaching staff and his awareness of the challenge ahead. “He (Fabinho) spoke about the club’s project, the current situation, and told me that I could help. We are working to do a great job in the remaining matches; each one is a final,” the midfielder declared.
Calebe also emphasized the importance of unity between the team and the fans to overcome their poor form. “We know it will be very difficult, but with confidence, with the continuous work of the entire group, the coaching staff, the board, and the fans, I am sure that Inter will turn this around and we will return to bringing joy to our supporters,” he stated.
Situation in the Brazilian Serie A
The deal, which includes a purchase option of 1 million euros (approx. R$ 5.7 million), has already been processed in the BID (CBF’s official registration system), making the player eligible for his debut. The landscape, however, presents a sharp contrast between the two teams. While Flamengo sits in second place with 38 points, Internacional languishes in 16th place with only 21 points, fighting desperately to pull away from the relegation zone.
The match between the Gauchos and the Rubro-Negros takes place at 7:30 PM (Brasilia time) this Wednesday at the Beira-Rio Stadium.
