Flamengo will have important reinforcements and key absences against Vitória in the Brazilian Serie A
Flamengo is preparing for another match in the Brazilian Championship. This Sunday (9th), the Rubro-Negro hosts Vitória at the Maracanã, in a game valid for the 22nd round.
The match, which will be broadcast by SporTV and Premiere, presents a scenario of mixed emotions for head coach Leonardo Jardim, who counts on crucial returns but also faces a considerable list of absences.
Flamengo’s Situation: Absences and Returns
The Rio-based team will have to compensate for the absence of six players. Luiz Araújo remains in a transition process following an injury to his left knee. Cebolinha is sidelined due to the flu, while Alex Sandro is dealing with pain in his right calf.
De La Cruz is serving a suspension due to an accumulation of yellow cards, and João Victor is on duty with the Brazil national team U-20.
The list of concerns for coach Jardim does not end there, with seven players currently sitting on yellow cards. If they receive a caution against Vitória, Bruno Henrique, Paquetá, Samuel Lino, and Pulgar will miss the following match against Mirassol.
