Flamengo has solidified its hegemony on the national stage by winning its sixth consecutive Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship, highlighted by a stunning performance from Rebeca Andrade.

Brazilian artistic gymnastics has a clear leader. On Friday (07), Flamengo reaffirmed its absolute dominance by securing its sixth straight Brazilian Championship team title. The victory, which brings the club’s total to 11 trophies in the competition’s history, was marked by a stellar performance from Olympic medalist Rebeca Andrade, who continues to set the pace for the sport globally.

Rebeca Andrade’s performance on the vault was the highlight of the tournament. The gymnast executed a Yurchenko double twist masterfully, sticking the landing and scoring 14.800 — the highest score in the world recorded in 2026. The technical precision of the rubro-negra athlete highlights the high level of preparation within the team led by top-tier talent.

A collective triumph

In addition to Rebeca Andrade, the squad that secured the sixth title for Mais Querido relied on the strength of Flavia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, Gabi Bouças, Júlia Coutinho, and Larissa Machado. The group’s cohesion was a standout factor throughout the competition, turning the event into a showcase of the club’s athletic project.

“I am very happy and proud! I had a good vault, and I think that gives me even more strength to keep improving. It was wonderful to return, help the team, be with my club, and compete alongside my teammates. That warmth, that help, and the support we always give each other—I think that’s what makes us a unique team.”

celebrated Rebeca in an interview with Flamengo TV.

Strategic vision for the future

The management of Rebeca Andrade‘s career following her success at the 2024 Paris Olympics remains carefully planned. Opting for a gradual transition after nearly two years away from major competition, the athlete is now focusing her efforts on the World Championships, which will take place in October in the Netherlands. For the international tournament, the gymnast has already confirmed she will include the balance beam in her repertoire, though she intends to skip the floor exercise to avoid physical risks.

From the team’s perspective, the gymnast’s selflessness is also noteworthy. By choosing not to perform a second vault at the Brazilian Championship to preserve her physical health for the international calendar, Rebeca proved that her focus remains on balancing her commitment to Flamengo with her global elite objectives. The results on the mat and the club’s history confirm that the rubro-negro project remains the primary reference in national gymnastics.
