Cleared by the medical department, defender Léo Ortiz is once again available to the coaching staff and is expected to be among those selected for Sunday’s classic against São Paulo at the Maracanã, in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The defender, who has not played since late May due to a thigh muscle injury, intensified his training during the mid-season break. With his return, coach Leonardo Jardim achieves the unprecedented feat of having the entire defensive squad available, consolidating the group’s strength for the decisive remainder of the season.

Even though you train at the highest level, we know that playing matches is different. I am very happy with the consistency, and I hope to continue working and making the most of the opportunities.”
