The Ecuadorian team is scheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro early this Wednesday (16) and has a specific itinerary in place before facing the Rubro-Negro at the Maracanã.

In a show of sportsmanship, Fluminense has made its training center available for Independiente del Valle to carry out its final preparations. The Ecuadorian squad will hold its last tactical session at the Tricolor’s training ground this Wednesday, aiming for acclimatization and fine-tuning before the showdown against Flamengo.
This gesture by Fluminense highlights the positive relationship between the clubs and the mutual respect within the continental competition, even with a local rival involved in the dispute.
Flamengo’s advantage and the match scenario
In the first leg held in Quito, Flamengo secured a 2-0 victory, building a significant lead for the return match. This result allows the Rio-based team to advance to the semi-finals even with a one-goal loss. However, if Independiente del Valle replicates the scoreline in their favor, the decision on who advances will be settled by a penalty shootout.
The winner of this matchup will face the victor of the duel between Corinthians and Estudiantes (ARG).
