Flamengo Shifts Focus to Brasileirão After Libertadores Draw
Flamengo has begun preparations for its upcoming Brazilian Serie A fixture. Following the 1-1 draw against Cruzeiro in the Libertadores, the red-and-black squad intensified training at Ninho do Urubu this Friday (14).
Head coach Leonardo Jardim led the training session, focusing on the match against Mirassol.
Shifting Focus After Libertadores Draw
The draw at Mineirão, in the first leg of the Libertadores Round of 16, means the decider will be played at Maracanã. In the match, Arroyo opened the scoring for Cruzeiro, but Lucas Paquetá equalized for the Mengão shortly after coming onto the field.
Now, the main focus shifts to the Brasileirão, where the team still aims for the title.
Next Challenge: Mirassol in the Brasileirão
Flamengo faces Mirassol this Sunday (16), in a match for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Serie A. The game is scheduled for 6:30 PM (Brasília time) at Maião in São Paulo.
The match will be widely broadcast, with Record on free-to-air TV, Premiere on pay-per-view, and CazéTV on YouTube.
Brasileirão Standings and Libertadores Second Leg
With 42 points from 21 games, Flamengo holds second place in the Brasileirão standings, behind Palmeiras.
The qualification for a spot in the Libertadores quarterfinals against Cruzeiro will be decided on Wednesday (19) at Maracanã, broadcast by Rede Globo.
