Flamengo stirs up the transfer market with advanced negotiations for Emerson Royal‘s departure and a cautious evaluation of a multimillion-euro offer from Milan for Evertton Araújo.

Flamengo is experiencing bustling days off the field. While coach Leonardo Jardim leads the mid-season training camp at Ninho do Urubu, aiming to maintain the squad’s high performance, the Rubro-Negra board is working intensely behind the scenes to balance the books and adjust the roster for the remainder of 2026. The current priority is to reconcile physical preparation with market decisions that promise to change the team’s look.

The club’s planning includes an important international stage. On June 28, the team departs for Portugal, where they will participate in friendly matches at Estádio Algarve against giants like River Plate, Lausanne-Sport, and Benfica. This testing period will be crucial for the group to build chemistry before the return of the Brazilian Championship.

Emerson Royal Close to Aston Villa

Right-back Emerson Royal‘s departure seems to be imminent. The Rio de Janeiro club has advanced negotiations with Aston Villa of England, in a deal valued at around 9 million euros (approximately R$ 54 million).

The transaction is seen as strategic for the finances of the club. “With this sale, we aim to recover the investment made in 2025,” revealed a source connected to the club. During his time at Gávea, the full-back was an active player, accumulating 40 appearances, one goal, and five assists.

Milan Bids for Evertton Araújo

Twenty-three-year-old defensive midfielder Evertton Araújo is the new target of European football. Milan has formalized a robust offer of 15 million euros (about R$ 88.8 million) for the player. The contract proposed by the Italians would last for five seasons.

The Rubro-Negra board is cautiously analyzing the proposal, as it owns 70% of the athlete’s economic rights — the remaining 30% belong to Volta Redonda. The Italian club’s interest arose after their unsuccessful attempt to sign defensive midfielder André from Corinthians. Leonardo Jardim‘s approval will be decisive for the deal to be struck.

Focus on Returning to the Brazilian Serie A

Despite the buzz in the transfer market, the absolute focus remains on the season. The delegation returns to Rio de Janeiro on July 12, focused on a decisive sequence in the Brasileirão. Flamengo will face key matchups against Chapecoense, São Paulo, and Internacional.

This website will follow every step of these negotiations and the Rubro-Negra’s performance in the quest for new titles. Stay tuned for upcoming updates on the transfer market.
