Flamengo has finalized its logistical schedule for the upcoming matches of the season, focusing on a demanding stretch between the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Serie A with critical games ahead.

After securing a vital 1-0 win over Remo, the Rubro-Negro has shifted gears and begun an intense week of preparations.

The coaching staff led by Leonardo Jardim must manage the squad’s physical fatigue, as the team faces international travel followed by a major domestic clash.

The planning aims to ensure the group is in peak condition for the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals against Independiente del Valle.

The total focus now is on helping the players adapt to the altitude and the rhythm of continental competition before returning to Rio de Janeiro for final preparations focused on the Brazilian Serie A.

Logistics and international preparation

The squad began training on Monday (07), with a session held in Belém prior to their flight to Ecuador.

The schedule includes technical training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday on Ecuadorian soil, allowing Leonardo Jardim to make the necessary adjustments to the lineup.

The match against Independiente del Valle will take place on Thursday (10) at 7:30 PM at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and the Disney+ platform.

Focus on the Serie A clash

The return to Brazil is scheduled for the early hours of Friday morning (11). With no time to waste, the Flamengo head coach will lead sessions at the Ninho do Urubu training center on Friday and Saturday.

The goal is to fine-tune the tactical setup to face Corinthians in a Brazilian Serie A match, scheduled for Sunday (13) at 5:30 PM at the Maracanã. Managing the physical load will be the key to maintaining competitiveness in both tournaments.

The sequence of matches demands extra attention from the coaching staff regarding the squad’s physical management.

This week marks only the beginning of a critical period, as the return leg against the Ecuadorian side is already scheduled for September 17, once again at the Maracanã.

Success on these two fronts will be decisive for Flamengo’s ambitions in the final stretch of the season, requiring total focus from the squad under the command of Leonardo Jardim.
