Corinthians has announced a strategic change to its uniform layout. The decision comes after Nike questioned the proximity of logos on the men’s team’s shorts.
Corinthians will now feature the Fatal Fans brand in a new position on their game shorts. The alteration was officially confirmed this Friday (4), prompted by a notification sent by Nike, the club’s official sportswear supplier. Nike pointed out a conflict in space between the sponsor’s logo and the sportswear brand’s identity on the uniform.
Starting with the upcoming games, the adult content company’s logo will be moved to the right side of the shorts, positioned just above the club’s crest. This measure aims to put an end to contractual and logistical disagreements that had been discussed between the club’s board and the American giant since August.
Flexibility and Support for the Club
The announcement of the change came from the commercial partner itself. In a video posted on social media, Samuel Ongaratto, business director at Fatal Fans, explained the company’s move:
We have already given the club the freedom to make adjustments to the position of our brand on the uniform to resolve this issue. Because, for us, the most important thing is to support the club and move forward together with Corinthians.
Contract Context and Next Steps
The partnership between Timão (Corinthians’ nickname) and Fatal Fans was sealed in June of this year and is valid until the end of 2027. The deal, valued at R$ 22 million, includes brand exposure across various club modalities, including men’s and women’s football, as well as the club’s basketball and futsal teams.
In addition to the placement of the brands, Nike had raised questions about the content marketed by the platform. With the visual adjustment, Corinthians expects to normalize the situation and focus on on-field challenges, such as preparation for the match against Chapecoense in the Brazilian Serie A, and the decisive sequence in the Libertadores.
