Businessman Rodolfo Landim, who previously served as president of Flamengo, saw his involvement in football result in a relegation to the fourth division of the Brazilian Championship in 2027. The team Confiança, from Aracaju (SE), where Landim is part of the management group, finished Serie C in last place, sealing the drop to the fourth tier of national football.
Confiança’s campaign was marked by a dismal offensive performance, scoring only 11 goals in 18 matches. The Sergipe team ended the competition in 20th position, accumulating just 13 points, eight points behind Volta Redonda, the first club outside the relegation zone. Thus, the former Flamengo executive prepares to compete in the last division of Brazilian football.
Landim’s Role at Confiança
Rodolfo Landim is part of the group that took over the management of the Sergipe club. Alongside him in the venture is Gabriel Araújo, Landim’s partner at the company LG2. The new management of Confiança SAF foresees an investment of R$24 million over the first three years of operation.
Rodolfo Landim’s tenure at Flamengo occurred between 2019 and the end of 2024, after winning the elections in 2018 alongside Marcos Braz. Currently, Flamengo is led by Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, who has been reaping rewards such as the Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores titles in 2025, in addition to notable signings.
