The CBF has set the refereeing assignments for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Serie A. Referee Rafael Klein will be in charge of the clash between Flamengo and Mirassol.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed this Tuesday (04) the refereeing team for Flamengo‘s next commitment in the Brazilian Championship. Rafael Klein, from Rio Grande do Sul, was chosen to officiate the match against Mirassol, valid for the 23rd round of the competition, which will take place on August 16, at Maião stadium, in São Paulo.
The referee is not an unfamiliar name to the São Paulo club. Klein’s last match involving Mirassol was in the 20th round of the Brazilian Serie A, a 1-1 draw against Vasco at São Januário. On that occasion, the referee’s performance proceeded without major controversy.
Busy Schedule Before the Match
Before taking the whistle for Mengo‘s match, Rafael Klein will have a busy schedule officiating other competitions. This Wednesday (05), the referee will be in Ceará to oversee the clash between Fortaleza and Palmeiras, a return leg in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
Subsequently, the referee returns to the Brazilian Serie A for the 22nd round, next Sunday (09), for the match between Santos and Athletico-PR, which will be played at Vila Belmiro.
Track Record with the Rubro-Negro
Flamengo will reunite with Rafael Klein after a short break. The last time the referee was in charge of a match for the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) was on July 22, in a 4-0 thrashing of Chapecoense at Arena Condá, during the 19th round of the national championship.
