The Colombian national team has officially announced its squad list for the upcoming FIFA international break, highlighting the absence of Jorge Carrascal, a Flamengo player, in a roster filled with names from Brazil.
Colombia’s coaching staff, led by Néstor Lorenzo, released on Thursday (17) the names who will represent the country in the upcoming international commitments. The list includes players currently shining at top Brazilian clubs, consolidating the exchange between the leagues.
On the other hand, the absence of Jorge Carrascal caught the eye. The Flamengo midfielder, who was part of the Colombian squad during the last 2026 World Cup qualifiers, was not selected by the coach for this cycle, despite being on the bench during the tournament.

Brazil’s national championship continues to be a fundamental showcase for Colombia’s plans. The list includes key players from Serie A giants, such as Jhon Arias (Fluminense), Kevin Castaño (Atlético-MG), Andrés Gómez (Vasco), and Kevin Viveros (Athletico-PR).

Despite Carrascal’s absence, Flamengo continues to have strong international representation during this FIFA international break. The club released Giorgian de Arrascaeta and Guillermo Varela for the Uruguayan national team.
