Forward Wallace Yan, formerly of Flamengo, has been officially unveiled by Red Bull Bragantino following negotiations that overcame January hurdles, and he is now setting his sights on his debut in São Paulo football.

Wallace Yan’s career path has taken a new turn this week. After falling down the pecking order in the red-and-black attack under Leonardo Jardim, the young forward was officially announced as a new Red Bull Bragantino signing this past Wednesday (02).

The transfer marks a definitive change in the athlete’s career, as he seeks more playing time following an up-and-down spell at Gávea.

The deal, which involved significant figures and an exchange of assets, reflects both parties’ desire to refresh their squads.

While Massa Bruta invested approximately 6 million euros (around R$ 35.5 million) for 70% of the player’s economic rights, Flamengo received forward Juliano Viana, valued at 1.5 million euros, who will join the Rio club’s youth setup.

The conclusion of long-standing negotiations

The interest from the Bragança Paulista club is not new. Back at the beginning of the year, talks had reached an advanced stage but were interrupted by disagreements over payment terms imposed by the Flamengo board, led by Luiz Eduardo Baptista, or Bap.

At the time, the athlete even said his goodbyes to the club, only to eventually return to training.

There were some negotiations at the beginning of the year, but unfortunately, they didn’t go through. But I remained very confident; I know Red Bull’s belief in my work and what I can contribute and deliver here to add to the group.

Full focus on his new home

Adapting to the new environment appears to be Wallace Yan’s priority. With Pedro and Bruno Henrique ahead of him in the pecking order in Rio de Janeiro, the forward now sees the move as a golden opportunity to prove his worth.

According to the M360 Staff, the player is already showing maturity by treating his arrival as a professional fresh start.

I’ve studied the team quite a bit. As I told my agent, I know every piece they have and where they need a player. Of course, I have to come in and work to help the team. It’s not just about thinking of myself, but thinking about the group, as I am one more player here to add and help.

Debut expectations and squad impact

While Flamengo is active in the transfer market with the arrival of the promising Joaquín Freitas from River Plate, Wallace Yan is focusing on his physical condition. The athlete claims to be at 100% and is eyeing his first minutes in a Bragantino shirt for next week.

The coaching staff expects the player to bring versatility to the attack, balancing the need for goals with the tactical intensity required by the São Paulo side’s system.

For Red Bull fans, the arrival of Wallace Yan is the final piece needed to boost the competitiveness of the offensive line in this final stretch of the season.
