Sharjah FC’s interest in midfielder Lorran has not advanced in recent days. Flamengo has opted to hold onto the player, keeping him integrated into training sessions at Ninho do Urubu.
The transfer market activity surrounding young attacking midfielder Lorran has hit a snag. Sharjah FC, a club from the United Arab Emirates, presented a formal loan offer with a purchase option, but Flamengo‘s board has put the negotiations on hold.
Despite the offer on the table, the 20-year-old continued his regular work routine with the rest of the squad on Tuesday morning (08).
The decision not to release the player reflects the Rio club’s caution regarding the future of its prospects. Although he has seen limited playing time recently, the Rubro-Negro believes that Lorran‘s potential can still be developed internally.
This approach avoids negotiations that do not meet the financial or sporting interests of the institution.
Long contract and significant release clause
Lorran has a contract with Flamengo valid until 2029, which provides the club with the legal security to negotiate. The release clause stipulated in his contract is 100 million euros, approximately R$ 600 million.
This figure reinforces that for the club, any departure must occur under ideal conditions, unlike previous inquiries that failed to impress the leadership.
Time in European football and challenges
The athlete’s return to Flamengo in June 2026 followed a loan spell at Pisa, in Italy. His time in European football was not easy; the midfielder appeared in only 10 matches, scoring one goal.
At the time, coach Alberto Gilardino publicly questioned the young player’s commitment:
The boy has been in Italy for a short time. If he can get rid of that laziness, he will do great things.
Projections and editorial outlook
The current scenario shows a player in search of affirmation. With 35 professional appearances, totaling two goals and three assists, Lorran is still trying to find his definitive spot in the starting lineup.
After the friendlies during the World Cup period, there was an expectation that the youngster would be used more frequently; however, the high competitiveness of a star-studded squad makes this evolution a constant challenge.
While his transfer market situation remains unresolved, the group’s full focus is on international competition. Flamengo is preparing to face Independiente del Valle in Ecuador this Thursday (10).
The match is valid for the Libertadores quarter-finals. Leonardo Jardim‘s coaching staff is aiming for a positive result at the Estádio Olímpico Atahualpa to decide the series in Rio de Janeiro.
