Remo sparked controversy on social media after publishing a statement with a threatening tone directed at Flamengo fans planning to attend the match at Mangueirão this Sunday (06).

The lead-up to the match between Remo and Flamengo, part of the 26th round of the Brazilian Serie A, has been marked by tension off the pitch. The Pará-based club used its official social media channels last Wednesday (02) to issue an incisive warning to Rubro-Negro supporters, triggering a wave of criticism from fans across the country.

The post, which was later deleted by the home team’s communications department following the negative backlash, adopted a hostile stance. The message insisted that, regardless of the stadium section, those in attendance should wear the home team’s colors, in a clear attempt to discourage the presence of the Nação Rubro-Negra in areas designated for local supporters.

Threat raises questions

Remo’s stance was promptly questioned by internet users. Many fans pointed out a perceived “selectivity” by the club, noting that such an aggressive tone and the strict demand for access control are not applied with the same intensity when the team faces other high-profile opponents in Brazilian football.

Sold-out tickets and home-field advantage

Even with the attempt to create a hostile environment, Flamengo fans demonstrated their usual strength. The allocation of tickets for visiting fans, with prices ranging between R$ 200 and R$ 400, sold out just hours after sales began. The box office success forced many Rubro-Negros to seek tickets in other sections of the Mangueirão stadium.

Expectations for the duel

The match, which takes place this Sunday (06) at 4:00 PM (Brasília time), will be broadcast by Globo and the Premiere channel. As kickoff approaches, the atmosphere remains a subject of reflection regarding the coexistence between different fan bases.

As noted by the M360 Team:

“It is tiresome and annoying to hear this narrative that people from the North and Northeast cannot support Flamengo. Love has no borders. A person can support whoever they want. May it be a peaceful game and may the Nação Rubro-Negra be able to celebrate calmly on Sunday.”

The focus now shifts to stadium security, with the expectation that the sporting spectacle will prevail over any attempts at intimidation, ensuring that the Brazilian Serie A clash is decided only within the four lines of the pitch.
