Remo supporters have once again shown their frustration with the club’s current state. On Thursday night (03), a group of fans gathered in front of the club’s headquarters in Belém, carrying banners and flares. The demands were directed at president Antônio Carlos Teixeira and head coach Léo Condé. The protest took place on the eve of an important match against Flamengo, valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Serie A.
Growing pressure at Baenão
This was the second act organized by the Remo faithful in less than a week. Last Tuesday (01), another group had already appeared at the social headquarters to voice their discontent with the board. On that occasion, a strong security detail was implemented. This time, however, footage of the protest revealed a less tense atmosphere, with no police presence inside the headquarters.
Frustrating campaign in the Brazilian Serie A
The main cause of the fans’ anger is Remo‘s performance in the Brazilian Serie B. The team sits in second-to-last place in the competition, with only 23 points earned in 25 matches. This is compounded by a seven-game winless streak, including matches in the Copa do Brasil. The recent defeat to Coritiba was the catalyst for increased pressure for changes, especially regarding coach Léo Condé. Despite the demands, the board, led by Antônio Carlos Teixeira, has chosen to keep the manager in his position.

Remo will host Flamengo this Sunday (06), at 4:00 PM, at Estádio do Mangueirão. While the Pará-based team is looking for a crucial reaction in its fight against relegation, Mengão enters the matchup with the goal of taking the lead in the Brazilian Serie A. Currently in second place, the Rio de Janeiro club can reach the top of the table with a win and a Palmeiras slip-up.
