Billion-Euro Record: PSG Rakes in Over €294 Million (R$ 1.7 Billion) from Player Sales in a Single Transfer Window.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has set a new financial benchmark in the football transfer market.
The recent sale of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool boosted the French club’s revenue to an impressive €294.3 million (approximately R$ 1.7 billion) in this window alone.
This amount not only represents a record for PSG since its acquisition by the Qatari sovereign group in 2011 but also signals a significant shift in the club’s management and economic strategy.
Barcola’s Record Sale and New Transfer Market Policy
The transaction involving Barcola was particularly noteworthy.
Liverpool paid €140 million (around R$ 845 million), with €116 million fixed and €24 million in performance-related clauses, making the French forward the largest sale in PSG‘s history.
Furthermore, he cemented his status as the most valuable player sold by a Ligue 1 club to an overseas team.
This figure surpasses the club’s previous record, which was the sale of Neymar to Al-Hilal in 2023 for €90 million.
This new sporting policy, guided by Luis Enrique, focuses on developing and enhancing young talents, generating revenue from athletes who do not fit into future plans.
Barcola is an emblematic example of this approach, having been traded after gaining prominence in the squad.
Other Significant Deals and Surplus
PSG did not limit itself to Barcola‘s sale.
Other significant deals include Gonçalo Ramos to Milan for €74 million (R$ 447 million), Randal Kolo Muani to Juventus for €41.2 million (R$ 249 million), Kang-in Lee to Atlético de Madrid for €35 million (R$ 211.5 million), and Ousmane Kamara to Lyon for €4.5 million (R$ 27 million).
The total sum of these transfers resulted in an increase of €230.3 million (R$ 1.39 billion) compared to the previous season, highlighting the success of the adopted market strategy.
Sporting Ambition Maintained
Despite the strong revenue from sales, Paris Saint-Germain reiterates that its sporting ambition remains unchanged.
The club remains active in the market, seeking reinforcements to maintain competitiveness and contend for all titles.
Rumors indicate interest in players like Hamdani from Lyon, to further strengthen the offensive sector.
The financial strategy, therefore, appears to serve as a pillar to sustain the club’s high-performance sporting project.
