The atmosphere at the Maracanã promises to be electrifying next Wednesday (19th). All tickets for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16 between Flamengo and Cruzeiro have been sold.

The duel, scheduled to kick off at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), is eagerly anticipated after the 1-1 draw in the first leg, held at the Mineirão.

The strong turnout from the Flamengo faithful demonstrates the importance of the match and the hope of advancing in the competition.

Record Attendance in Sight

With the confirmation of sold-out tickets, Flamengo has the potential to break its own attendance record at the Maracanã this season.

The current record stands at 71,205 spectators, set during the match against Palmeiras in the Brazilian Serie A.

The classic against Fluminense, in the Carioca Championship, also ranks among the highest attendances, with 69,315 fans.

Rubro-Negro Fan Engagement

The enthusiasm of the Flamengo fanbase is not new in this edition of the Libertadores. In the group stage, the Rio de Janeiro club had the second-highest average attendance among Brazilian teams.

The Rubro-Negro trailed only Cruzeiro itself. The three home games in the first phase drew a total of 143,232 fans, averaging 52,926 per match.

The Qualification Scenario

The 1-1 draw at the Mineirão leaves the decision open. Any further draw at the Maracanã will send the dispute to the thrilling penalty shootout.

For Flamengo, a home victory is the most direct path to qualification and continuation in their quest for the Libertadores title. The fans, as usual, promise to be the 12th player.

Expectations now turn to the unfolding of the confrontation, where the strength of the crowd and the on-field performance of the Flamengo and Cruzeiro players will dictate who remains alive in the fight for the coveted South American trophy.
