The Lubrax brand is officially returning to Flamengo‘s kit in a multi-million-dollar, three-season agreement, replacing Texaco on the upper back of the Sacred Jersey.
Flamengo has officially announced the return of a historic partner for the remainder of the season. Lubricant brand Lubrax is taking over the commercial real estate on the upper back of the red-and-black shirt, occupying the space previously held by Texaco.
The commercial agreement was signed for three years, injecting around R$ 24 million into the Rio de Janeiro club’s coffers. The new partnership took effect on the first business day of October, with the official debut of the new layout on the pitch expected as early as the next Brazilian Serie A match.
New exposure and teasers in Rio de Janeiro
The arrival of the new partner generated great buzz among fans on social media. A giant Flamengo jersey was displayed on the facade of Vibra‘s headquarters in downtown Rio de Janeiro, visually confirming the logo’s new position on the team’s primary kit.
The company takes over the space on the kit at a time of consolidated revenues for the Rio club, which already features major brands in its portfolio, including Betano as the main shirt sponsor and apparel supplier Adidas.
Historical legacy and next steps
The partnership brings back winning memories for Flamengo fans. The Brazilian brand was featured on the jersey during the golden era of the 1980s, including the Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup triumphs, accumulating a 25-year history of association with the institution.
While the board celebrates the financial boost off the pitch, the squad under the coaching staff’s guidance focuses on the decisive stretch of the national calendar. The next challenge of the season will be against Santos, in a duel scheduled for next Thursday (08) at 7:30 PM (Brasília time) at the Vila Belmiro stadium.
