Flamengo Ends July with Strong Performance Rate, Eyes Upcoming Challenges
The month of July 2026 presented a period of adjustment for Flamengo. Between the break for the World Cup and the resumption of the Brazilian Serie A, the Rubro-Negro played seven matches, achieving a success rate of 71.4%. The team, managed by Leonardo Jardim, concluded the period with an unbeaten streak, including four wins and three draws.
The July schedule was marked by a mix of international friendlies, serving as preparation during the inter-season break, and matches in the national championship. The offensive performance was consistent, with 16 goals scored, while the defense conceded seven.
The matchups included victories over Benfica and Olimpia in friendlies, as well as a thrashing of Chapecoense in the Brazilian Serie A. However, recent draws against São Paulo and Internacional highlighted challenges to be overcome in the continuation of the season.
With the end of July, the Flamengo squad now enjoys a rest period of about ten days. The expectation is that the team will return at full strength for the upcoming commitments, focusing on improving performance and consolidating its position in the Brazilian Serie A standings. The next official match is scheduled for August 9th, against Vitória, at the Maracanã.
