The issue revolved around a potential venue and date change for the match, originally scheduled for October 8 at Vila Belmiro, moving it to October 7 at MorumBIS. According to the official statement from the Rio de Janeiro club, there was no obstacle on Flamengo’s part, as the team looked favorably upon the logistical benefits and added comfort for its fans in a larger venue.
Clarifications regarding the situation
Flamengo stated that it was consulted by Santos regarding the feasibility of the change and gave the green light immediately. However, the Rio club was later informed informally that Santos had decided against the change. Flamengo emphasized its collaborative stance:
