Piauí State Champion Midfielder Joins Comercial-PI for 2026 Serie B.
Comercial-PI has announced the signing of experienced midfielder Hadrian for the 2026 season. The player, who gained prominence after winning the state championship with River-PI in 2023, returns to Piauí football with the goal of leading the Campo Maior team in their quest for promotion to the state’s top division.
Return to Piauí
After three years away from local football, Hadrian arrives at Comercial-PI. This season, the midfielder played for Barcelona de Ilhéus in the Campeonato Baiano and had a stint with Aymores in the Mineiro Módulo II. His last appearance in Piauí was significant, as he was part of River-PI’s victorious squad in the 2023 Campeonato Piauiense.
The player expressed optimism about the new challenge:
“I’m committed to Comercial-PI in pursuit of this promotion. I had the good fortune to be champion of the Piauiense First Division in 2023, and now, upon my return, I hope to achieve the same success and be very happy.”
Squad Assembly for 2026
The official presentation of Comercial-PI’s squad is scheduled for August 12, at Clube da Engenharia, in Teresina. Under the command of coach Marcelo Soares, the club has already confirmed 29 athletes, including young talents from the youth categories. The objective is to assemble a competitive team for the Campeonato Piauiense Série B.
Aiming for Promotion
The 2026 Campeonato Piauiense Série B is scheduled to begin on September 5 and will feature six teams.
The format includes a single round-robin stage, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The two finalists will secure promotion to the Piauí state first division in 2027, an achievement that Comercial-PI, with the reinforcement of Hadrian, aims to reach.
The signing of a player with Hadrian’s history demonstrates Comercial-PI’s ambition to be a protagonist in the competition and fight for one of the spots in the top four. The expectation is that his experience and technical quality will be fundamental for the club’s objectives next season.
