Brazilian Serie A records coaching carousel: 15 managers dismissed in 23 rounds
The Brazilian Serie A has hit a concerning milestone: 15 head coaches have been fired after just 23 rounds of play. Instability in the dugout has become the hallmark of the competition, with four clubs already having made two changes to their coaching staff.
High Turnover in Leadership
The recent dismissal of Franclim Carvalho from Botafogo brings the total to 15. The Portuguese manager, who had replaced Argentine Martín Anselmi, could not survive the restructuring at the Rio-based club, which is now under new Mexican ownership.
Botafogo is not alone in this landscape of constant change. Vasco, São Paulo, and Chapecoense have also fired two managers each. Other clubs that have opted for leadership changes include Fluminense, Corinthians, Santos, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Remo, and Atlético, with the latter being the first to fire a coach this season, Jorge Sampaoli.
