In search of a new manager for the remainder of the season, Botafogo has scheduled a decisive meeting with former Flamengo head coach Tite for this Monday (14).
Botafogo ramped up its efforts in the transfer market this Monday (14) by scheduling a strategic meeting with manager Tite.
The club’s board aims to formally present their sporting project to the coach, who has emerged as one of the top candidates to take charge of the Rio de Janeiro-based side.
Currently, the Glorioso first-team squad remains under the interim guidance of Rodrigo Bellão.
The coach took the role on a temporary basis following the departure of Franclim Carvalho, and club leadership is working against the clock to decide who will be responsible for leading Botafogo through the rest of the season.
Career path and the market
Free on the market since March, when he left Cruzeiro after a four-month tenure, Tite is looking for a new challenge in his career.
His stint with the team from Minas Gerais, which began in December 2025, consisted of 17 matches, resulting in eight wins, three draws, and six losses.
Despite winning the state championship, the pressure for results at the start of the national league led to his exit.
Tite‘s extensive career includes spells at major clubs such as Grêmio, Atlético-MG, Palmeiras, and Internacional, in addition to experience in Arab football and two cycles in charge of the Brazil national team.
However, his career is largely defined by the significant titles he won at Corinthians.
Time at Flamengo
Tite‘s tenure at Flamengo was met with high expectations.
Hired in October 2023 to replace Jorge Sampaoli, the manager led the Rubro-Negro in 68 matches, accumulating 41 victories and the Campeonato Carioca title.
