Brazilian forward Allan needed less than 90 minutes to prove his worth at Manchester City. In his debut match for the English team, the 22-year-old player decisively contributed to the 5-0 rout over Norwich, in the third round of the English League Cup.
Allan not only found the back of the net but also provided an assist, in a performance he himself described as beyond his most optimistic dreams.

The performance of the former Palmeiras player was the highlight of the match played at the Etihad Stadium. Allan was directly involved in two of the five goals.
In the 28th minute of the first half, he capitalized on an error by the opposing goalkeeper and set up Samba to open the scoring. Early in the second half, in the third minute, the Brazilian showcased his skill by receiving the ball on the left, dribbling past defenders, and finishing precisely to score his first goal for the City jersey.
Allan stated:
I’m very happy, man. I was quite anxious for this debut. I couldn’t have imagined a debut like this, not even in my wildest dreams. So, I’m very happy, very happy. I just need to keep working to improve and be able to help City even more.
The player appeared visibly emotional about the moment.

Allan‘s transfer to Manchester City, finalized in August, involved approximately 40 million euros (around R$ 240 million). The deal includes a fixed 37.5 million euros and an additional 2.5 million in bonuses, with a five-season contract.
The transaction positions the forward as the third-largest sale in Palmeiras history. He trails only the negotiations of Estêvão to Chelsea and Endrick to Real Madrid.
