Defender Alexsandro Ribeiro, 26, could be on his way out of Lille, France, with a destination in the Premier League. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian is in ongoing talks with Ipswich Town, England. The potential negotiation between Alexsandro and Ipswich could be worth around 30 million euros, which currently translates to R$ 178.2 million. Due to this potential transfer, Flamengo, the club that developed the player, stands to profit from the transaction. Should the defender’s move to the Premier League be confirmed, Flamengo will receive approximately R$ 2.5 million through the FIFA Solidarity Mechanism. Alexsandro Ribeiro was part of Flamengo‘s youth academy between 2014 and 2017. After his spell with the Rio de Janeiro club, he played for Resende before starting his journey in Portuguese football, where he represented the teams of Pradaria, Amora, and Chaves. He joined Lille, his current club, in 2022.
