Zico reacts to criticism about Maracanã’s pitch and compares it to his playing days

His concern about the situation even influenced the decision not to confirm the traditional ‘Jogo das Estrelas’ (All-Star Game), a charity event he usually organizes. Is the All-Star Game going to happen? I don’t know yet, the pitch is bad. But comparing it to the times I played, the pitch as it is today is a carpet (laughs).
Dissatisfaction with the stadium’s playing surface is not new.
