In a challenging afternoon at the Estádio Mangueirão in Belém, Flamengo demonstrated resilience by clinching a crucial victory against Remo in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. Amidst heavy downpours that affected both teams’ performance, the lone goal from forward Samuel Lino was enough to secure the three points, boosting the Rio de Janeiro club to a provisional lead in the competition.
The 1-0 triumph, though narrow, holds significant meaning in the title race. With 54 points, Flamengo now awaits the outcome of the match between Palmeiras, with 52 points, and Botafogo, which will determine whether the red-and-black team remains at the top of the table by the end of the round.
First Half of Few Thrills
The initial period was dominated by the intensity of the rain and tactical caution. Flamengo had the first promising chance in the fourth minute when Samuel Lino crossed to Jorge Carrascal, who shot wide.
