Roma has intensified negotiations to sign forward Luiz Henrique, surpassing competition from Flamengo and Botafogo in the international transfer market.

The transfer market is taking new shape with Roma emerging as the primary suitor for Luiz Henrique. The Italian club, looking to strengthen its offensive sector, has already taken concrete steps by opening official talks with Zenit, who holds the player’s rights. The Brazilian, in turn, has already indicated his openness to a move to Italy.

While the European team advances, the scenario in Brazil is undergoing significant changes. Flamengo, who was one of the main interested parties, chose to withdraw from the race after an internal change in approach. Botafogo, on the other hand, maintains a cautious stance but has not ceased attempts to repatriate the player, even in the face of the robust financial offer presented by the Romans.

Roma Prepares Multi-Million Offer for Forward

According to information gathered by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma‘s proposal is around 40 million euros, approximately R$ 240 million at the current exchange rate, a value that includes fixed amounts and performance bonuses. The Italian club, which is also monitoring Ecuadorian Kenny Arroyo from Cruzeiro, considers Luiz Henrique the ideal piece to elevate its attack this season.

Situation of Flamengo and Botafogo

Flamengo‘s withdrawal occurred after president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, vetoed the 35 million euro investment. The Rio de Janeiro club sought to maintain financial responsibility by refusing Zenit‘s demands, which requested full payment upfront. Regarding the exit from negotiations, the M360 Team points out that:

The club would not make any financial follies and put its foot down in the negotiation.

On the other hand, Botafogo remains steadfast behind the scenes. The black and white club’s board presented a significant salary proposal, aiming to convince the player to return to Rio de Janeiro. However, the Rio de Janeiro board recognizes the difficulty of overcoming the investment power and visibility offered by European football at this point in the window.

The outcome of this negotiation is expected to happen in the coming days. If Roma formalizes the financial terms with Zenit, the dream of seeing Luiz Henrique back in Brazilian football will become increasingly distant. For the Rio de Janeiro clubs, the focus now is to analyze new alternatives in the market to meet the offensive needs of their respective squads.
