After a period of instability and loss of playing time under coach Filipe Luís, the young forward is experiencing a resurgence. With the arrival of Leonardo Jardim, Wallace Yan made the most of the mid-season break, standing out in friendly matches played in the Algarve, Portugal.

The Rio de Janeiro club acquired the remaining 30% of the economic rights previously held by Ferroviária, paying approximately R$ 14 million.
