Pioneering spirit and a winning career

Paulo Angioni began his career in the 1980s, gaining prominence after leaving the Municipal club to join the staff at Vasco da Gama. Over four decades dedicated to the sport, he solidified the role of executive director as a central and indispensable piece for the organization of Brazilian clubs.

Between 1993 and 1997, Angioni wrote an important chapter at Flamengo, where he was responsible for leading the planning of the club’s football operations during that period. His vast resume also includes significant stints at national giants such as Palmeiras, Corinthians, Fluminense, and Bahia, as well as Olaria.

Legacy with the Brazil national team

Beyond his success at the club level, Paulo Angioni also made a significant contribution to the Brazil national team. He served as a supervisor for the ‘Canarinho’ between 1989 and 1990, bringing his management experience to the international stage and assisting in the transition and organization process of the national squad.

The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo deeply laments the passing of Paulo Angioni at 80. A pioneer in the role of executive director of football in Brazil, Angioni built a career spanning over four decades dedicated to the game, with spells at major Brazilian clubs and the Brazil national team.
