Amidst speculation about a possible return to Brazilian football, Luiz Henrique’s staff breaks its silence and clarifies the current status of negotiations with Flamengo.

Activity behind the scenes at Flamengo took an important turn this week. Following a strategic meeting between José Boto, the Rio de Janeiro club’s football director, and William Bento, agent for forward Luiz Henrique, the player’s staff decided to issue an official statement to put an end to speculation about an immediate transfer to Mengão.

The meeting, held at a hotel in Porto Alegre during the *Rubro-Negra* delegation’s stay for the match against Internacional in the Brazilian Serie A, did not go unnoticed. Although agent William Bento — who is also the brother of defender Vitão — met with the executive, the official statement from the player’s representatives indicates a continuation of his contract with Zenit (RUS).

Focus on Russia and Stalled Negotiations Due to Valuation

In an official note, Luiz Henrique’s staff assured that the player is fully adapted to Russian football and focused on the start of the Russian Championship. According to the statement, any inquiries or negotiations are handled strictly by the professionals responsible for the forward’s career, refuting rumors of family interference in transfer market decisions.

Despite the public denial, Flamengo’s interest in the athlete is long-standing and remains active. The main obstacle, however, is the market value. While the forward’s estimated price is around €24 million (approximately R$140 million), the Russian club indicates it will only begin talks for a figure between €40 and €50 million — approximately R$240 million and R$304 million.

Flamengo Monitors the Market Before Transfer Window Closes

Flamengo‘s football department continues to work cautiously to strengthen the squad within its financial means. With the transfer window open until September 11, the club maintains constant monitoring for reinforcements and new talents.

In addition to Luiz Henrique, the name of Thiago Almada, currently at Atlético de Madrid, also appears as an alternative on the board’s radar. The *Rubro-Negra* fanbase, in turn, is closely following the developments, hoping the club can finalize a significant signing for the rest of the season, strengthening the team led by the coaching staff for the decisive challenges ahead.
