Conmebol confirmed on Monday (21) the full schedule for the Copa Libertadores de América semifinals. Fans can now plan for the thrilling matchups that will determine the tournament’s finalists. The first leg matches are scheduled for mid-October, with the return legs taking place the following week.
The initial highlight will be the clash between Fluminense and Palmeiras. The first leg will take place on October 14, a Wednesday, at 9:30 PM, at the iconic Maracanã. The following day, October 15, Flamengo will face Estudiantes, from Argentina, in a match also kicking off at 9:30 PM, but at a venue yet to be announced by the entity.
Palmeiras and Fluminense to Decide at Allianz Parque
The return leg between Fluminense and Palmeiras will take place on October 21, at 9:30 PM. The decisive match will be played at Allianz Parque, Palmeiras’ home ground, in São Paulo. An intense match is expected for a spot in the final.
Flamengo Aims to Qualify Against Estudiantes at Maracanã
Flamengo, meanwhile, will have the opportunity to secure their spot in the final in front of their home crowd. The return leg against Estudiantes is scheduled for October 22, also at 9:30 PM, at Maracanã.
Million-Dollar Prizes Await Finalists
In addition to sporting glory, the teams that reach the grand final of the Libertadores will be financially rewarded. The teams that advance to the decision will receive a prize of US$7 million (approximately R$36 million). The grand champion will lift the trophy and pocket US$25 million (R$129 million), while the runner-up will secure US$7 million (R$36 million).
The title decider is scheduled for November 28, at the traditional Estádio Centenário, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Brazil’s dominance in the competition has been remarkable, with only teams from the country contesting the title in the last five years, with the exception of the 2023 final.
