For the proposal to be approved, support from two-thirds of the council members present is required. It is important to note that this evening’s vote will not seal the final signing of the contracts, but will instead deliberate on the formation of the SAF and authorize the club’s representatives to move forward with negotiations and the formalization of the operation.

Back in April, the Inter de Limeira Deliberative Council had already shown a positive stance toward the acquisition proposal, which also includes Enrico Ambrogini among the investors. Despite this indication, there are still steps to be taken to officially confirm the deal.

In March, in an interview with ESPN, Enrico Ambrogini detailed the business plan presented to the club. Projections point to an investment of up to R$ 454 million over a decade, a period during which the club aims to reach the Brazilian Serie A. The initial proposal includes a R$ 10 million injection within 15 to 18 months, as well as the assumption of the club’s debts, estimated at R$ 8.5 million. There is also a minimum guarantee of R$ 187 million over 15 years.

Founded in 1913, Associação Atlética Internacional saw its heyday in the 1980s, winning the Campeonato Paulista in 1986 and the Brazilian Serie B in 1988. However, the club has faced a series of relegations since 1989.
