The Journey to the Libertadores Semifinals

The first major commitment is against Independiente del Valle (ECU) this Thursday (17) at the Maracanã. This second leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals is a pivotal moment in the season.

Holding a 2-0 advantage secured in the altitude of Quito, Mengão can afford to lose by one goal and still secure their spot among the top four teams in South America. A draw in the aggregate score would lead to a penalty shootout.

The team reported back this Monday (14) and will undergo intensive preparation in the days leading up to the match.

On Wednesday (16), Leonardo Jardim will lead the final training session focused on the match against Independiente del Valle. This is because on Thursday (17), the Rubro-Negro will face the Ecuadorian side starting at 9:30 PM (Brasília time) at the Maracanã, aiming for a spot in the Copa Libertadores semifinals.

Full Focus on the Brazilian Serie A Against Red Bull Bragantino

Barely recovering from the continental showdown, Flamengo will immediately jump into another decisive fixture. On Sunday (20), their opponent will be Red Bull Bragantino, in a match counting for the 28th round of the Brazilian Serie A.

The team, currently leading the competition with 57 points, aims to maintain its top position and avoid relying on slip-ups from rivals like Palmeiras, who sit in second place with 56 points. The training schedule on Friday (18) and Saturday (19) will be crucial for fine-tuning the final tactical details.

The full week’s schedule includes daily training sessions at CT Ninho do Urubu, with specific times for each activity, culminating in the match against Red Bull Bragantino on Sunday (20), at 6:30 PM (Brasília time), also held at the Maracanã.

Detailed Training and Match Schedule:

  • Monday (14): Training at 11:00 AM at CT Ninho do Urubu
